This is what myself, and other animal advocates have been talking about for weeks leading up to Easter.
All animals have basic needs. They have lifespans that go far beyond the "Easter Honeymoon" period. By the end of Easter Sunday, people will begin to realize the animal they have gotten does in fact poop, smell, eat, drink and need ways to let off their energy.
A woman found "Easter Rejects" in a box on train tracks near her home. Bunnies who didn't find their Easter home in time. Bunnies who have 10 full years ahead of them, who almost didn't get a chance to live those 10 very full years (minimum).
Before getting an animal, educate yourself on their needs. Rabbits are some of the best pets anyone can own, if you give them the chance and time they deserve.
No more boxed up abandonments please. These guys deserve way better.
