Severe Neglect Case

Daniel and I have recently come across the most severe case of neglect we have ever seen in the time we've been rescuing.

We received a call about three ducks who were being surrendered to us. Unaware of the gravity of the situation, we picked the ducks to find many other animals in a clear state of neglect. One of them, being a young Husky/German Shepherd who was covered in mange and his left eye protruding from its socket.

The ducks had gone without water for 3 days, and were stuck in a 3x4 cage.

We have brought them water in portions and food - both of which they have emptied 3 times in the course of 2 hours. They do not know how to walk, and seem very tired. We're hoping for the very best for these three - and are starting rehabilitation for them tomorrow.

UPDATE: Unfortunately one of the ducks named Jude died over night, and the dog has been taken to the vet where he will receive the best care, and he already has an adopter lined up to take him home!

Joan and Johnny, the remaining ducks are doing really well and seem stronger already.
